ADAS Calibration
Automobile Windshield Replacement & Accurate Calibration - One Call Does It All
What is ADAS Calibration?
Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is standard equipment on today’s new vehicles. These systems are designed to assist drivers to prevent collisions by displaying alerts, providing camera images, or by taking instantaneous control of the vehicle. Fletcher's Autoglass utilizes the Autel MaxiSys ADAS to provide the original complete diagnostic functionality, comprehensive, and precise ADAS calibration.
With MaxiSys calibration tools and accurate software, Autel MaxiSys ADAS is an ideal calibration tool for collision repair, glass replacement, and auto-glass repair.
What is a Power Window Switch?
Having your newer vehicle windshield replaced will require your vehicle's ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) to be calibrated. Windshield mounted ADAS cameras and sensors may get moved during the replacement process. In order for these systems to operate correctly they will need to be calibrated.
Formerly, calibration could only be performed at dealerships, but Fletcher's Autoglass is up to date on windshield-related technology and has the means to calibrate ADAS in our shop in Grass Valley, California.
Windshield Replacement
The main important part of your vehicle is the windshield which protects the occupants from the elements outside. If your view out the windshield is obstructed by cracks or broken, it is unsafe and needs to be replace before you get a fix it ticket, or worse into an accident.
Fletchers Auto Glass orders the correct replacement windshield made with OEM — Original Equipment Manufacture — quality glass for your vehicle. We do not use off brands or seconds, nor do we skimp on accessories, such as moldings. Stop by our location in Grass Valley, California at 127 Stewart Street so we can evaluate your windshield — sometimes all you need is a Chip Repair — or call us at (530) 273-9206 so we can order it and have it ready when you show up.
Auto Glass Replacement
Side Window · Backglass - Rear Window
A vehicle's side window and backglass, or rear window, is made of heat strengthened (tempered) glass. When it breaks it shatters completely and may or may not fall completely from the opening. Immediate replacement is important to protect the vehicle from the weather and security, and protection of the passnegers. Putting a piece of plexiglass or a plastic bag is not advised, it will cause more damage to your vehicle, be unsafe, be a noise hinderance, and render your vehicle and belongings inside up for grabs.
If your side window cracked without shattering you have what the industry calls "accustical" glass. Found on some of the higher end cars such as BMW this laminated glass is meant to further deaden sound for a quieter interior. We replace those too.
In all cases, Fletchers Auto Glass Certified technicians will:
- Inspect to determine the reason for the glass failure and advise you of any findings.
- Remove the door panel to access the operating mechanism and inspect.
- Vacuum all broken glass from inside the door and inside the vehicle's interior.
- Install a new side window properly.
- Test the window operation, lubricate, and adjust.
- Test the defrost or other technology functionality for proper operation — if applicable.
- Replace the door panel.
- Clean the glass thoroughly.
- Check for water and air leaks.
Chip Repair
Hot or Cold extremes cause windshield chips to spread into long cracks. The effect of your air conditioner or driving into a car wash on a hot day can cause chips to spread.
Stress from driving over a speed bump, pothole or uneven terrain can cause a windshield chip to crack further. A vehicle twists and flexes and since the windshield is part of the structure it bears a portion of the load which in turn will force a chip to spread.
Getting a windshield repair early can stop the damage from spreading and in most cases prevent the need for your windshield to be replaced.
Repairing a windshield chip or ding as soon as you can help:
- to stop the windshield chip from cracking further. Temperature and driving pressures can turn the chip into a crack at any time especially while driving. Once it spreads to far, the windshield will require replacement.
- to retain the needed strength of the windshield. Your windshield provides up to 30% of a vehicle's structural strength. In a crash or roll-over accident it supports the roof, helps the airbags deploy, and prevents you from being thrown from the vehicle. If your windshield is weakened by a chip or a crack, your safety is compromised.
- save money on having to replace your windshield.
- saves your time as repairing a chipped windshield takes less than 20 minutes.
Leak Check
Common causes of wet vehicle interiors.
- Clogged sunroof drain tubes! There are tubes that run inside the roof from the sunroof opening and exit by the rear wheels that keep water from accumulating around the area of the sunroof and leaking into the car. When they clog up from dirt and debris the water finds its way down the pillars or drips from the sunroof opening. An easy fix for Fletchers Auto Glass to handle and while we are at it we will lube and make adjustments to mechanisms so your sunroof works smoothly and seals properly.
- Clogged cowl panel drains. This one is to hard to describe but the end result is water on your floorboard. Usually passenger side. What you really need to know is that Fletchers Auto Glass knows how to identify and fix it.
- The windshield seal can be compromised and leaks can start due to rust or a faulty installation. Fletchers Auto Glass can figure it out and correct the problem regardless of the root cause.
Fletchers Auto Glass receives many calls about water leaking into a vehicle from the windshield. 99% of the time the windshield is not the problem.
Fletchers Auto Glass will do a leak check on your windshield, side windows, and backglass for water and air.
Headlight Lens Restoration
Headlights getting hazy or cloudy? That is very common problem due to weather and the roads in California, specially if you drive in the rain or snow.
- Headlights are no longer made of glass since it limited the car manufacturers to certain shapes and sizes. While there are many benefits to plastic headlight lenses, one major drawback is that over time oxidation from exposure to the elements changes the physical properties of the surface.
- Restoring headlights to their original clarity improves your vehicle's appearance but most importantly restores the headlight's ability to project light properly.
Sun Roof Replacement & Repair
Let the sunshine in but only the sun.
Fletchers Auto Glass can replace broken, shattered, or cracked sunroof panels in most cases and save you a considerable amount of money from what the dealer will charge.
Fletchers Auto Glass can handle your insurance claim with all insurance companies.
- Sunroofs need maintained and adjusted from time to time like any other mechanical item.
- Sunroofs are not sealed to prevent water from coming in at the roof. They actually have a drain system to channel water down the front windshield pillars of the car and drain behind the front wheels. Many people think that they have a windshield leak when it is due to clogged sunroof drain tubes! An easy fix for Fletcher's to handle and while we are at it we will lube and make adjustments to mechanisms so your sunroof works smoothly and seals properly!
- There are various sunroofs including panoramic, retracting and pop up. Problems vary from leaks to tracks and motor issues. Fletcher's can identify the problem and resolve it efficiently. As do all mechanical items, sunroofs need maintained and adjusted from time to time.
